“This feature provides alternative sources for inputs necessary to derive optimal inventory levels for large numbers of parts or card sets within the existing product base.

In many organizations the groundwork for what needs to be built, in what quantities, and by when has already been analyzed. Datacraft’s new and exciting approach to our initial unique “Intelligent Load Leveling” ability to upload/import this data into our system is essential for managing the need for replenishment and on-hand balances required to accommodate defined or changing schedules,” said Datacraft CEO Stephen Parker.

Datacraft Solutions, Inc. recently announced a new Kanban card-level calculation functionality, “Daily Demand Import Interface” (DDII). Using the DDII tool allows customers to quickly and easily upload new “Average Daily Demand” to Signum and to recalculate card set levels in mass. Once the new demand is uploaded to Signum, production card levels are automatically reset and new Kanban cards are ready for printing.

The DDII web application has three major components: Import Demand, Calculation Reports, and Print Cards

• Import Demand: Allows users to modify and upload new card set information into Datacraft’s pull-based Kanban solution, Signum. Users are able to download current card set information and make changes to such information as minimum reorder quantities and delivery schedules and then upload these changes to Signum.

• Calculation Reports: The “calculation reports” interface provides users with the ability to see all of their uploaded and processed demand data. The data is processed and validated. Valid data is accepted and any errors are flagged for users to review, correct and resubmit.

• Print Cards: The “print cards” component enables users to print new cards for any card-sets modified during a DDII session.

How to Start a Postcard Printing Campaign

So you want to start a postcard marketing campaign for your business? Do you know how to start postcard printing? Do you know the different aspects on how to produce a postcard print? If you’re completely clueless about postcard printing then you’re in luck. Below we have created a simple step by step guide on how to start your postcard printing and marketing campaign. Follow them carefully and you should be well on your way to use your postcards for marketing success.

Research your target market The first thing you need to do is to decide and to research on your target market. This should be a standard business and marketing strategy. Do this by examining your product, or in this case the object of your color postcards, and determine what kinds of people will be interested in that object or place. They can be young, old, male, female, rich, middle class, poor, professionals etc. Once you have narrowed down your market to a few key demographics, then you need to understand the nature of them. Try to find out what they like, what they dislike. How do they talk to each other? What are a few of the slang words they use? What do they hope for and dream about? Once you answer all these questions you are ready for the next step.

Create an appropriate design The next step involves creating the appropriate postcard printing design. Armed with the information you have from the first step, you should have a pretty good idea of what your target demographic should respond to. Use the language of your market to create the text content of your color postcard. The art style of your custom postcards should also match the preferences of your target audience. For wiser and more mature audiences, a punk, rocker or chaotic style of design might be a turn off. On the flip side, formal and elegant designs might appear boring and “square” to a more youthful crowd. Mix and match these factors and you should have an appropriate postcard print design that your audience will take an interest to.

Initial testing Of course all designs are not born perfect. Always have a few sample postcards printed first so that you can test out their design. Have people critic them and list down the pros and cons of its design. Judge them by several criteria like design, content, image quality, paper quality and overall appeal. If you can try giving them out to some of your target audiences and you can ask their opinion about the color postcard. Once you get this data, redesign your postcard if it is needed.

Find postcard printing services After you have finalized your design, then it is time to look for a postcard printing company. Most publishing companies have postcard printing services. However some are better than others when it comes to custom postcard printing. So shop around and see where you can get the best quality for the best possible price. As a nice tip, you can check out online printing companies so that you can browse for them easier. Try to be extensive in your search so that you can minmize cost if possible by looking for printers that specialize in printing postcards.

Distribution Great! Once your color postcards are printed, all that is left to do is to stamp them up and send them on out. Since you have that demographic data from step one, you should know exactly to what kind of people you can give them to. This should give you the exposure you want from postcards. A good return of investment.

Chooseco LLC, a publisher of a popular children’s book called “Choose Your Own Adventure” has recently filed a law suit against DaimlerChrysler AG’s Chrysler Group division for trademark infringement. According to Chooseco, Chrysler Group’s new marketing ad campaign for the all-new 2007 Jeep Patriot with a tagline “Choose Your Adventure” imitates the book title. Chooseco filed the law suit last week U.S. District Court in Burlington, Vermont.

The “Choose Your Own Adventure” children’s books series first published by Bantam Books from 1979 to 1998, and currently published by Chooseco. The book has been translated in more than 35 languages and sold about 250 million copies, making the “Choose Your Own Adventure” as one of the most successful book series of all time. Unlike other well known books, “Choose Your Own Adventure” allows the reader to portray the role of the main character in the story. Every action of the reader can change the plot of the story, thus making it more interesting and challenging. According to Chooseco, the online interactive marketing ad campaign for all-new Jeep Patriot called the “Way Beyond Trail” imitates the book’s theme.

Meanwhile, Chrysler Group has named their defendants, which include BBDO Detroit Inc., Organic Inc. and Marvel Entertainment Inc. for the case. The Auburn Hills automaker has been also served with a cease and desist request last March 16.

Jason Vines, spokesman for the Chrysler Group said he was shocked when the suit was filed and they parties had been negotiating with Chooseco to reach a settlement, but Gilligan said there had been no negotiations made between the two parties.

Moreover, Vines said Chrysler Group had offered to link the Chooseco’s web site to the Jeep site. He said: “Obviously, they’re looking for money. We’d offered to link our site, which gets nine katrillion times more traffic, to their site.”

Jeep Patriot’s “The Way Beyond Trail” marketing campaign has been launch last March 15. It includes 30-second TV spots, print ads, online advertising, product integration, and billboards. The campaign shows the capability and performance of the all-new 2007 Jeep Patriot as well as the quality auto parts like Jeep mud flap.

How can you make sure that the Spanish punctuation marks will appear "embedded" in the text when you are trying to self-publish through the print-on-demand option. I understand that just by setting the Spanish language into your own computer does not work when you submit the manuscript. Is it a special software that does this?
Thanks.

It is dependent upon the application you are using. You will need to specify what application you are using to get help here. If you are doing this via the Internet, most likely your browser is unicode capable, and you shouldn’t have to worry about it, unless the person who made what you are tring to print didn’t know what they were doing.

what is the burr ridge area of Illinois like? mcgraw hill offered me a job there….i’m in my 20′s, just graduated college. do they have good night life? cheap apartments?

do i need a car to live there?

Lived right next door in Hinsdale for 20 years. Burr Ridge is a beautiful area. You’ll need a car as public transportation is extremely limited. Good nightlife? Well, you’ll be definitely leaving Burr Ridge for that — but not far. But nearby. If I were you, I’d check out Oak Brook, Illinois for nightlife, restaurants, theaters, bar scenes (15 minutes away). Cheap living? Not really. Don’t know where you’re from, but you’re in a major metropolitan area, so…. Best places to live for economy that are very close would be Westmont, Downers Grove, LaGrange (bit further). Check out the internet for Suburban Life Newspaper. That’s a local and will give you an idea of apartment rents. I’m new on Yahoo and haven’t pasted links yet, but your question interested me. Hope some of this is helpful. Oh, and, by the way, there are plenty of jobs in this market. So if you get here and decide to eave McGraw Hill, your options are wide open.

I’ve written a book and am trying to get it published. I was informed to find a publishing company that does NOT require you to pay them up front. I’ve been looking for one such company and have found none. Does anyone have any ideas?

Right, no legitimate publisher will ask you to pay. The publisher pays you.

There are very specific exceptions to this rule… if you want a book published that has no money making potential, and the scope of buyers is limited to your immediate family for example. Such as if you publish your family history, and you want books printed. Nobody outside your family will be interested. You will have to pay someone to do the printing. You essentially buy the entire run of the book in advance, paying all costs and expenses for the printing. You would have to find a boutique publisher that routinely engages in this type of business in order to get your book printed.

In a normal publishing relationship, the publisher agrees to publish and sell your book in return for a share of the profits. They send you money periodically as profits are recognized. If you can’t enter into this type of relationship with a publisher, it is because they don’t see any profit in taking on your book. You will have better luck convincing the publisher that you will make money for them if you have an agent. Most legit publishers won’t even speak to you without an agent.

How can i publish my book?

Ok so im 14 . I wrote a short book for children , i think its really good i’ve sent it to my friends they all like it . I haven’t had any negative feedback .I’ve tried looking at all these publishing book sites but they cost tons . how can i publish my book for a cheaper price .
Thanks

I guess since you’re talking about what it costs to publish a book, that you’re wanting to self-publish? With a mainstream publisher the author does not pay for publication– the author is the one who is supposed to get paid. That takes a lot of time and patience, though, since your book needs to be really good–not just one that your friends like, but one that a publisher is willing to take a gamble on, one that looks like it would sell enough to make everyone a profit. If you want to go that route you need to find a critique group of writers in your area so people who know about writing for children can read your work and give you some feedback about how to get it ready for submission to a publisher.
If you do want to self-publish, Lulu.com has a good reputation. Whatever you do, go to the Predators and Editors website or Writer Beware and look up the companies you’re interested in. They will steer you away from the places you should avoid, like PublishAmerica, for example.
